Unemployment drops to 5 percent as hiring jumps

A nice surprise jump was reported this morning in hiring. The economy added 271,000 jobs in October, and the unemployment rate falls to 5 percent.

Wage growth is also showing signs of life. Average hourly earnings rose 2.5%, the best uptick in years. There were sizable gains in business and professional services, retail, healthcare, as well as construction.

Of course, this will lead to the inevitable right wing whining that the numbers are somehow fake, because right wingers can’t stand it when America gets good news so long as the secret Muslim Kenyan dictator is in office.

They hate Obama far more than they love America.
