The RNC is pissed off about debates with tough questions

UPDATE: The RNC has suspended its “partnership” with NBC for the February GOP debate. I guess the candidates can only handle softball, fawning questions.

Original post below.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus railed against the CNBC moderators last night, promising to “reassess” the primary debates going forward. “I just can’t tell you how pissed off I am,” he told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

In other words, the RNC wants only debate moderators who can be sufficiently fawning of the candidates. Expect to hear a lot more questions like, “Can you explain to us just why you’re so awesome, and please list the ways in which Obama and Hillary are the worst things to ever happen in the entire universe.”

Look, if the candidates can’t handle tough questions — or even if we concede hostile moderators — how can we expect them to handle ISIS? It’s not like the next Republican president will be able to say, “I’m pissed off about ISIS. We’re going to ‘reassess’ the kind of terrorist organizations we’ll fight going forward.”
