Ted Cruz got big applause bashing the media… as politicians usually do. They love to use the media to complain about the media.
But at the GOP debate on CNBC, Cruz complained about the lack of substantive questions and got probably the biggest cheer of the night. Unfortunately for little Teddy, he was completely wrong: the debate moderators asked plenty of substantive questions, the candidates just couldn’t answer them.
The contenders complain the media is being mean to them, but it’s only because their ideas are so crazy, so far out of the mainstream, that asking them to explain them or back them up with real facts seems like an attack. Like asking a biblical literalist to explain the absurdity of a man living in a fish’s stomach for three days.
