I keep hearing pundits say Donald Trump dominated last night’s debate, but nothing could be further from the truth. For Donald, last night was a disaster. When the topics became substantive, he was obviously out of his league, and even tended to disappear during those bits.
Ben Carson did better for himself than the pundits realize. Jeb Bush scored a couple of much-needed highlights, but perhaps not enough to help his campaign. Carly Fiorina had the best applause lines of the night and probably did the most to help her poll numbers, even though she resorted to blatant lies about Planned Parenthood to do it. (But that’s how you win GOP primaries.)
