I show as much respect for Christianity as Christians show for atheism, because I assume they’re following the Golden Rule and want to be treated the way they treat me.
Will modern American Christians ever be as concerned for helping the poor and the sick as they are making sure gay people can’t get married? Will Christian politicians in their moral crusades ever crusade as hard for the poor and sick as they do against gay people?
Conservative Christian politicians have so much energy for the idea that the federal government should keep gay people from getting married, but so little for the idea that the government should help the needy. Why is that?
