Two competing films about NSA leaker Edward Snowden are in the works

One will be written and directed by Oliver Stone. He’s gotten the rights to Luke Harding’s book, The Snowden Files, The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man, and filming is reportedly set to begin before the end of the year.

Sony Pictures has also optioned their own Snowden flick. They’ve secured the rights to No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA and the US Surveillance State, and signed up James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson for the project.
