Hillary Clinton tacks to the right

In what could be a signal of an intent to run for president, Hillary Clinton is beginning to enunciate policy ideas that are different from President Obama’s – a prerequisite for a candidate from an administration that wishes to succeed it but must be seen as setting a different course.

Apparently, Clinton is choosing foreign policy for the area in which she’ll diverge from Obama.

She’s begun laying out positions that sound a more hard-line note on Iran, Russia and other trouble spots, underscoring how she might differentiate herself from the administration she served, should she run. She is publicly voicing doubts that Iran would make good on an agreement that Obama hopes will curb that country’s nuclear program in exchange for relief from sanctions.
