Governor Jan Brewer has just announced that she has vetoed Arizona’s SB1062, the so-called “religious freedom” bill, which was really the “legal to discriminate against gays” bill.
Much will be said about why she vetoed the bill, most of which will focus on the economic impact boycotts would have on the state. That may be – but the thing to focus on here is that she did the right thing. Even if it was out of fear of economic reprisal, it’s still the right thing.
So let the right wingers fear these anti-gay bills hurting their wallets. Good.
